Our Delta flight to JFK was excellent! The flight crew was pleasant & the food was actually delicious! The free wine was appreciated:) We arrived on time into NY. Landing here if you have any mobility issues, you’ll definitely need a cart or wheelchair. Where our gate was we had an 8 minute walk to customs. Then you exit and re-enter to security, then back 8 min walk to gate 52. I know some airports are just a hassle. To me NY is one of them.
We were exhausted at this point and had another hour & a half wait until departure at 1:30 pm. We finally got our seat assignments and boarded. This Delta crew was definitely over it. There were no smiles and everyone just seemed to be aggravated. We were anxiously waiting to go when all of a sudden the Captain came out of the cockpit and walked to the back of the plane. Minutes later 2 females were escorted off, one by one. Like what the hell NY. We suspect they had been intoxicated and such. Unbelievable, so a little delay and we finally go! Mike & I are now like only us! So close and now delayed because of these 2.
We arrived into a packed Orlando and it felt so great to be ”home” home. So different, so strange. It’s funny how being away makes everything so strange when you return.
While on the long flight I started getting my thoughts together for a Q & A. I hope to get that posted tomorrow. I know everyone is waiting to hear about the process we just went through with the purchase. Just know we did it! We’re living proof it can be done and fairly easy too!! It’s funny I’m already missing Italy. I miss the house we just left. It will be wonderful to plan our next visit and see the changes with the seasons also. So much to look forward to!
I’m exhausted and wide awake at the same time. I also will post our renovations before & after pictures!! I think the house looks as beautiful as it possibly could. Before leaving we dropped off a set of keys to our new neighbors & friends. How blessed are we that we met incredible people the very first week.
I hope you’re all doing well and dreaming your dreams! The process may be stressful & hectic and a bit overwhelming – BUT, the end result, the journey it takes you on is completely worth every moment. The worst part about traveling for me was the masks. I have skin conditions and get easily irritated & my nose becomes so itchy, stuffy & bleeds it’s just too much. Add claustrophobia & anxiety flying. And Delta requires you on international flights to have the surgical mask. Personally for me, those irritate my face worse. I can’t wait to the day we can all see each others smiles again.
Good night from Florida. It’s 3:30 am in Rome… no wonder I’m exhausted.
