Bongiorno š¼. Before I write, let me count my blessings. Namaste.
We have never in the 7 homes we have owned, bought & sold (from Florida to Cape Cod) EVER hired a plumber, electrician, carpenter or contractor… ever. We never had the extra money to hire, and āMike will do itā is my famous saying. For Mike to watch a plumber come in (who spoke no English) and we do not speak Italian, was a whole new ballgame. Itās not only frustrating but upsetting. Mike can fix it, and is willing to fix it…he just wasnāt sure where to even start. Inside the house or outside on the stone? So the plumber arrived punctual at 8:30 am. Watching him leave with his chisel & bucket was a sight. I expected him to come with a new pipe and all the fixings. Itās not like Home Depot is at the top of Via Regina Elena.
From there the plumber will come back Monday and do his part and then we pray he gives us an invoice to submit to our attorney. Theyāre saying there isnāt much that can be done. We paid for a survey / inspection so, in Mikeās professional opinion (Mike is a licensed home inspector, with years of experience on all home renovations) this would have been noticed. He believes the water was not on during our survey. Hence why we had no water when we arrived. No water on, no leak detected.
Just wait till we try to match the existing floor tiles. If the pipe is corroded through to the bathroom, we have different flooring in these areas. Let the games begin!
